Pel Privacy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Short version: Pel doesn't want your name, email or phone number. Your wallet address is your account. A lot of what you do here, like the pixels you place and what you say in global chat, is public, because that's the point of a shared canvas.
What we collect
- Your wallet address, to sign you in and connect everything you do to your account.
- Your profile: username and the cosmetics you've equipped.
- What you do on Pel: pixels you place (where, what colour, when), items you use, chat messages and GIFs, clans you join, videos you queue, ads you buy, reports you make, and the alerts we send you.
- Your drawings and NFTs: drawings you save in the Create tab, what you submit to mint (the picture, name, description and royalty), the result of its check, the NFTs and collections you create, the profile picture you pick, any NFT reports you make, and the drops you run or mint from.
- Money records: your Pel balance, deposits, withdrawals, purchases, tips, rewards and faucet claims, with the Solana transaction for each.
- Watch Together activity: when you're watching and your "still watching?" answers, so rewards go to real viewers.
- Your IP address, briefly. When you use a reward feature (Watch Together, the faucet), we check your IP to enforce one reward per connection and to spot VPNs. We also count requests per connection so nobody can flood the site. Either way we keep only a scrambled, one-way version of it, never the address itself. The VPN check uses a VPN-detection service and its answer is kept for about a day; request counts are kept for about an hour.
- Basic request logs kept by our hosting providers, for security and fixing problems.
- Error reports. If the page breaks in your browser, it sends us the error message, where in the page it happened, which tab was open and your browser type, so we can fix it. Not your wallet or anything personal. Kept for about a month.
What we don't collect
No names, emails, phone numbers or card details. No ad trackers, no analytics cookies, and we don't sell anything about you to anyone.
Browser storage
Pel saves a few things on your own device so it remembers you: your sign-in session, where you were on the canvas, your chat channel, video volume and player position, and which pop-ups you've already seen. This stays in your browser. Clear it and you'll be signed out with settings reset.
What's public
Pretty much everything you do in the open: your username, profile, the pixels you place (anyone can see who placed a pixel), global chat, clans, the videos you queue, your ads, and most money movements on the Token tab's activity feed. Your player record is public too, including your stats, how many of each item you hold, and whether you're currently muted or banned. Clan chat is visible to your clan and to moderators. Your balance and alerts are private.
Your saved drawings are private until you submit one to mint. After that, the minted piece (picture, name, description, royalty, your username and wallet) shows in the gallery, on your artist page and on marketplaces, and your profile picture shows wherever your name does. Moderators can see submissions and reports.
The blockchain part
Anything that happens on Solana (payments, tips, deposits, withdrawals, burns, NFTs you mint) is public and permanent. Nobody can delete it, including us. The same goes for NFT pictures and details, which are stored permanently on Arweave, a public storage network.
Who else sees it
We don't sell your data. Pel uses a handful of outside services to run, and they see only what they need:
- Hosting and database providers store Pel's data and serve the site.
- Solana RPC providers look up and send transactions.
- A VPN-detection service gets the IP address of people using reward features.
- An anti-bot check runs when you claim the faucet and when Watch Together asks whether you're still watching.
- A GIF provider gets your GIF searches, your browser type and a scrambled ID that can't be traced back to your wallet. GIF results may include ads.
- An automated moderation service checks new ad text and images, and drawings submitted to mint (with their name and description).
- An Arweave upload service stores minted NFT pictures and details.
- YouTube plays Watch Together videos. Its player runs in your browser and can set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.
- Your wallet app handles signing in and approving payments.
We'll also share information if the law requires it, or to deal with fraud, abuse or someone being in danger.
How long we keep things
- Pixels, finished canvases and usernames: for as long as Pel exists. They're part of the canvas's history.
- Chat: global chat about 3 days, clan chat about 30 days, then it's deleted. A message someone reported is kept with the report for moderators.
- Money records: as long as we need them for the books and the law.
- VPN check results: about a day. Faucet pixel counts: about two weeks.
- Saved drawings: until you delete them. Minted NFTs and their records: for as long as Pel exists (and forever on-chain and on Arweave).
- Chat removed by a moderator is hidden from everyone but kept in a moderator-only log.
Your choices
- Pick a username that doesn't identify you, and only post what you're happy for everyone to see.
- Want your data, or want it removed? Ask a moderator in global chat and we'll ask you to prove the wallet is yours. We'll remove or anonymise what we can. We can't remove anything on-chain or on Arweave (including minted NFTs), pixels baked into a finished canvas, or records we need to keep for the books, for fraud checks or by law.
- Depending on where you live you may have extra rights over your data. Ask and we'll help.
Keeping it safe
IP addresses are only stored scrambled, keys stay out of the code and the database, access to data is locked down, and every payment is checked on-chain. Nothing online is perfectly secure, though, and keeping your wallet safe is on you.
Kids
Pel is 18+. If you think someone underage is using it, tell us and we'll remove their account.
Changes
We'll update this page as Pel changes and bump the date at the top, with a notice on the site for anything big.
